Privacy Policy

Last updated 19 October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information AriaPass collects when you buy tickets or organise shows on our platform, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal data in line with applicable Nigerian data protection law, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023.

1. Information we collect

  • Account information: name, email address and phone number.
  • Transaction information: order and ticket details, discount codes used, refund requests, and payment status from Paystack — we don't collect or store your card number or banking credentials ourselves.
  • Organiser information: business details, bank account details for payouts, and identity verification documents (a government ID number and a selfie) you submit before your first payout is approved.
  • Content you submit: show listings, banners, event programmes, promotional video clips, photos for your organiser page, discount codes, and reviews you post.
  • Activity and security information: a log of key actions on your account (like sign-ins, payout requests, and profile changes), together with the IP address, device and browser used, kept for your account's security and to investigate disputes or abuse.
  • Usage information: basic device, browser and activity data (like pages viewed) that helps us keep the platform working and secure.

2. How we use your information

  • To process orders, deliver tickets, and manage your account;
  • To verify an organiser's identity before releasing a payout;
  • To send transactional emails and SMS — order confirmations, tickets, refund and payout updates, show reminders, and account notices;
  • To respond to support requests and resolve disputes, including refund requests between a buyer and an organiser;
  • To detect and prevent fraud and abuse on the platform, including monitoring for suspicious account or payment activity;
  • To diagnose and fix technical errors on the platform;
  • To understand how AriaPass is used so we can improve it.

3. How we share your information

We share information only where it's needed to run AriaPass:

  • With Paystack, to process payments, refunds and payouts;
  • With email and SMS providers, to deliver tickets and notifications;
  • With error-monitoring and hosting infrastructure providers, to keep the platform reliable and secure — these providers may process limited technical data (such as device information and the details of a technical error) on our behalf, and may be located outside Nigeria, subject to contractual confidentiality and security obligations;
  • With the organiser of a show you bought a ticket to, limited to what they need to run that event (e.g. your name and ticket details for entry);
  • With law enforcement or regulators, only where we're legally required to.

We don't sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period after that where we need it to meet legal, tax or accounting obligations, or to resolve disputes. Transaction and payout records, in particular, are typically kept longer than other account data, since they may be needed for accounting or dispute resolution well after an order or payout is complete.

5. Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time by emailing hello@ariapass.africa. We'll respond as quickly as we can, though some information — like transaction records — may need to be retained for legal reasons even after a deletion request.

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences, along with limited analytics to understand how AriaPass is used. We don't use cookies to serve third-party advertising.

7. Data security

We use encryption in transit and access controls to protect your information. Payment details are handled entirely by Paystack and never touch our servers. Identity verification numbers (like NIN and BVN) submitted by organisers are stored encrypted at rest and are never included in any data we return through the app; the identity verification selfie is likewise only reachable through a private, time-limited link, not a public one, and both are only accessible to our review team. No security measure is perfect, and we can't guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep these protections current as the platform grows.

8. Children's privacy

AriaPass is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as AriaPass evolves. If we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
